And by this definition, another thing they could do is "legalize" all of that officially (maybe with a couple adjustments), but it would require tutorial/hint/anything else per game design standard to be adjusted to get the info across to any player.
But that's where comes all the other stuff like it being unintended in the first place, the nature of the topic itself, animation breaking etc. etc.
Due to the partial community outcry, the developers are now facing a bunch of challenges, mainly:
The standard move set is impacted, and that is big. So, players who don't even have any ideas about flinging are impacted / limited in their actions. Now we even have more stamina consumption on heavy punch for some reason.
They slept on it for too long, so a certain % of players got used to it and will perceive the fix negatively. It sort of creates a void for some players that needs to be filled from the game design- player happiness standpoint.
You can do nothing about it, but it's always better if you do something. So now you have to compensate somehow for the negative impact.
A good evolution of this could be adding a new system for similar moves, maybe through items, like new power ups or potions etc.
Because if you think about it: speed, invisibility or spinach strength all provide unique imbalanced and fun powers, difference is they are intended and accessible by everyone.
