Hello everyone!

Last week, we collected your thoughts and feedback on the Mini Ranked Mode. Thank you all for your valuable suggestions!

Building on the mode, we've also drafted Limited-Time Mini Ranked Mode - Nemo Kart, and we’d love to hear your thoughts!

This mode may keep some of the mechanics from the original Mini Ranked format:

  • Players will earn points from each match, and rankings will be based on total points.
  • Points will only increase (never decrease), and performance in matches will affect how many points you earn. Winners will earn more.
  • Rankings will reset every two weeks. High-ranking players will receive rewards!
  • To ensure quality matchmaking and bring challenge-seeking players together, this mode will only be available during limited time slots on weekends, with scheduling designed to accommodate players across global time zones.

In addition to these more "serious" competitive-style modes, we're also exploring a Weekend-Only Party Mode!
This mode would feature fun variants of classic maps - new gameplay twists each cycle!

Examples might include:

  • Ichiban with Low Gravity
  • Ichiban with Bomb Rain
  • Always-accelerating Kart Racing
  • Ichiban where everyone is permanently invisible
  • … and more surprise variants!

    we discussed the idea of ranked mode with my friend and came to conclusion that we need to see it first before giving our opinions. rewards of these mini tournaments can be a deciding factor of if the idea will work or fail

    what i think about ranked mode i have stated before. although the common opinion is that there is no need for ranked mode in a casual party game, separating casual players from competitive players is what i always spoke for. but making such separation seems like impossible task for any game. competitive players will still play casual game modes to win more easily, while casual players will still play ranked modes for the rewards it gives them.

    in games with low playerbase separating ranked and casual game modes is death sentence. at the same time every casual player knows that it's better to not play at all, than play against competitive players. those, who are familiar with this game, can wait longer just to be matched with other casual players. but those of them, who are less invested in this game, may drop the game completely because of longer matchmaking times.

    rewards must be something most people will not care to not obtain. it has been stated by too many people already why casual players dont want valuable rewards to be locked in ranked mode. not only because it will make it harder for them to get rewards, with valuable rewards there will be no separation. both casual and competitive players will compete for these rewards. and competitive players will always get these rewards

    weekend is a good time to try this mini rank mode. for a lot of people, who work or study, this may be the only time they can play the game. they will appreciate to not be matched with competitive players, but how long will they have to wait for a match with casual players then? i cant tell you how good this idea is until we see it in action.

    to me all these ranks and rewards are worthless, but fun variants of classic maps is something i am interested in. i spoke before that i wish there were random events on the maps we already have. it could enrich gameplay and make old maps feel fresh again. this is something that i would want to see not just on weekend, but on weekdays too

    this gave me an idea. what if we had trophies to decorate your winter cabin?

    i will also add this: i dont play quick match, please add an option for map variations in custom game. even better if such option is available for SMASH mode. it will make this game mode even more fun. i dont feel like going back to classic last stand
