Game frozen and crashed by a thrown buzzball in Kart Racing?

In Kart Racing, I was just driving past another player that had the throwable buzzball powerup, and as soon as I pass that player, they throw the buzzball at me. The buzzball hit me and then the screen froze, and I ended up back at the Xbox home screen.
I play PA on a Series S Xbox console. Maybe this glitch occurs under certain
circumstances while playing.

PartySteve The kart mode is in beta. I'm sure the devs will fix it
