The book? The void? I mean, the non infected have to win somehow and the game has to end. Maybe the book is something a non infected player holds to clear out the void around them.
Maybe the void also infects players on top of being knocked out. It might shrink like in ichiban but infecting more players.
Maybe if infected hold the book then they can speed up the void filling the map. Survivors may clear it out around them or speed up the game timer so when the timer is up, they'll still be alive.
Just my speculation. Im excited to see how it all works out.
