Igor The weapons actually feel reasonably well balanced. Every weapon is vulnerable to another or even vulnerable to good technique alone if you have no weapon. I realised it was a skill issue on my part when I was losing to some players, even though I had the nunchucks.
It's true that on maps like Gator Valley and Broken Arrow they are more advantageous than on other maps. This is due to the maps being smaller and the high probability of death when knocked off, but improving as a player can still help here. Sometimes avoidance by rolling is the answer. Sometimes it's better technique.
Something I've learned from my discussions on this forum is that a lot of my frustrations with the game were due to lack of skill on my part. I just needed to become better (and I still do, because a lot of the time I completely suck).
I think the game has more fundamental non-skill related issues personally, like issues with the camera (I'm often getting lost behind objects and die as a result of that) and performance problems on Xbox. Those are the things I feel should be sorted out. The game should run a lot better than it does on Xbox currently, as comparing my Steam Deck to my Xbox Series X is like night and day. Fighting feels so much better on the Steam Deck when compared to the Xbox, which is crazy as the Series X is a more powerful system.
I had a game on my Steam Deck last night, and I can land over 90% of my heavy punches. On the Xbox I land less than 25% of them (it's probably more like 5%). The game just feels different on Xbox, and I don't understand why. These are the non-skill related issues that should be addressed. I can compensate by adjusting the timing of my punches on Xbox, but I feel that I'm at a disadvantage compared to PC players.
