and also i remember when in the beginning i could not understand why american kids are so secretive about their information. because this is new to me. people in my country, who i know in real life, dont hide this much about themselves. so now i think i understand why this is happening - there are too many creeps, stalkers and generally crazy people in america. it's natural that some people would want to talk less about themselves. still, if we look at other places, like facebook and instagram, people there dont hide how they look and where there live. it's mostly gamers, who are secretive. so maybe it's not only about america, but also because there are more weirdos playing videogames? i knew some crazy people from animal crossing, it's nothing new to me. what is funny is that my german friend from animal crossing also agreed with me, that if there is a drama, it always comes from american players
and for you to not worry about your safety, i can tell you this: if you see someone talking about stealing your information, you are talking to a loser weirdo, not a professional hacker. those people are good for nothing, they can only copy and paste something that is already public, which is revealing nothing. we can see how stupid some of them are when they cant even copy paste correct information. and a professional hacker would not waste time on video game drama. they are also very expensive and even still they can do very little with how secured your accounts are. the people, who have their steam accounts hijacked are kids, who click on wrong links. otherwise it's really impossible to steal someone's account. i talk to knowledgeable people on this topic, i know something about it. so if you see a creep, remember that it's just a creep and not a hacker. but also remember that it's impossible to reveal something that is already public. if you dont want others to not see something, you just dont post it online. it's that simple
