vile_Terrier does taking off shows seems strange to you or do you speak for americans? shoes are dirty, it is a common sense that you dont want to bring disease inside your house. it's only americans you see putting shoes on their tables, we simply cannot understand how you can ignore such simple sanitary rules
i agree with what you wrote. there is a very simple unwritten rule in every community our society - be respectful to locals and people who were there before you. you must understand the difference between being a visitor or local, new guy or an old member of the community. it's very easy to follow this simple rule, but somehow too many people just dont understand the importance of giving proper respect. if they did, then not only here, but all over the world it would reduce social tension. and im one of the people, who take this rule seriously and is sensitive to when some dont behave the way they should. it's very simple - dont argue and dont make fights with locals. it's very rude. locals can fight with locals. and visitors should understand their position in a society they come to.
i never argue with anyone on chinese forum, but somehow all these newly registered fools have so much audacity, they think they can argue with us here. they are ignoring basic etiquette, that should have been taught to them by their parents. but people as crazy as this usually dont have good families, thats why they behave like that
and speaking of japan, in their country they are very sensitive to behavior of those who visit them. and it's a part of why they are not willing to let most outsiders inside their country. they have a complex etiquette in their culture. in japan, even if someone is just one year older than you, you should respect him as senior and act accordingly. the etiquette in china is also something they are proud of. it's because of this etiquette their society is so much more peaceful, than what you see in the west
