@Kel17 , @UnseenMind , @Chubby , I've been wondering about this also.
I've personally felt the game feels somewhat un-optimised on my Xbox Series X. I don't feel any of this is game-breaking, as you can adjust your timings to compensate, but, what raises a bit of a "red flag" for me is that I see sluggishness and missed button presses even on the menu screens, and I wonder if these translate over into the game itself - meaning sometimes your presses aren't registered in the middle of a fight. I've no hard evidence for this though but will keep a look out and capture it if I can. And yes, I've tried multiple controllers - so it's not a controller issue.
The sluggishness can be seen in the menus with both missed button presses and stuttering. A good test is to just try on an outfit from the shop and when the character appears on the screen, use the thumbstick to rotate them. I see a bitt of stuttering here, which feels odd. Sure, the character's being rendered at a much larger size and, I suspect, in greater detail, but it should be something the Xbox (especially the Series X) can handle.
Having said all of that though, I wonder if there's a difference between what I'm talking about here (missed keypresses and stuttering) and what @Kel17 mentioned. Yes, it can be slow to swing the lollipop, for instance, but that's because there's a) a wind-up to the action, and b) your level of stamina is important.
I've played the game on both Xbox Series X and my Steam Deck, and the first time I played on the Steam Deck, combat felt a lot "tighter". I don't know if that was really the case, but I was surprised when I started landing almost every heavy punch that I threw. I find this a massive challenge on the Xbox (probably landing only around 25% of them), so when I was landing what seemed like 90% of them on the Steam Deck that was a surprise.
It does feel like there's a difference here and some optimisation could be made.
