Cartrimino Have you considered there might not be enough arabs?
Most of them might've given up on this game, I would too if there wasn't any localization or language to language translation that isn't implemented in the game. Some games aren't always "the one", and yes, there might be chances for improvement, but that improvement takes a while. that doesn't make anyone more or less impatient.
EDIT: I forgot to note that, while yes, free VPNs do exist, most are only for private browsing, not for the intentions @Arabian wants to use them for.
Here are some questions i'll ask, targeted towards both the moderators and @Cartrimino. I do not mean these in a disrespectful way, but more in a "why?" "how?" and "when?" format.
why?
If @Arabian has asked for an arabic language to be prioritized, why hasn't he, to the very least, gotten a response, email, dms, whatever on how it would be hard to complete?
how?
If, and only if, he managed to get a response, how would the moderators handle it? Would it just be ignored and thrown into the trash like most questions on the discord, or would it be taken more seriously? i'd love to know. I'm quite familiar with waiting for responses, but being completely ignored in some instances isn't ideal.
and finally,
when?
even though i've already spoken about this in the "how" section, I just want to clarify a couple of things. If the moderators aren't comfortable with questions like @Arabian 's, does it mean that he is in the wrong? he wants to play a game, right? spends money on it, lots actually. 80 USD (game price and prince tiger price combined) possibly more. Even if a refund isn't issued, he at least should get an answer.
My apologies if I came off as harsh. I just want to feel what arabian feels while playing this game. As I said in the memes thread, I wanted to help as much as possible. maybe this will, we'll never know. as for now, we just hope. I based most of my questions off of what you said cartrimino, and honestly, you've made a point, paying for a VPN is optional, but putting that on top of a game that already costs a chunk of your savings, a game that promises localizations for but handful of countries, et cetera, being bought and never being able to be used. (some places like steam, i'm not as sure, but I don't think it specifies arabians, it only makes an of unspecified depth pool out of the words "middle east", which, in arabian's defense, doesn't talk about or at least mention if arabs have their own servers. If I find more on this topic, i'll be sure to mention it in this comment.
EDIT 2: found something.
it never specified middle east in the first place, hell, it doesn't even mention it in the languages section.
Arabian You were just trying to tell them that you are a normal person playing a game, but it’s not from your country, your internet connection is not good, your native language and Arabic characters are not in the game, and nobody cares about you.
Honestly, I care. I don't know if the mods care enough to give a response but literally all of this is taking more effort then it ever should. Cartrimino said that they're working on other events, sure, but if they were gracious enough to give a reply on my "weapon skins" thread, which, IMO is a slightly absurd idea I didn't really think out lol, why couldn't they do the same on his threads? I'm going to quote you again Cartrimino.
Cartrimino A server is already a big ask, due to the maintenance costs, but reasonable. Adding more language support is quite a bit of stuff to add but it'll be done eventually. But new characters, plural, based on Arabic animals? (Modelling a single character can take ten months by the way.) Add a dash of continuous disrespect and rushing from the person asking you for this and you have yourself a recipe for disaster. I'm going to be honest, Arabian won't like it, but the best solution is to use a VPN, a free one, until the issue is fixed. If his game won't connect, his ping is fine (although he was using Europe server instead of Asia, unless he lives in Europe, that might be the issue) and he insists he has excellent WiFi, I don't really know what to do here.
I agree with this too. perfection takes time. I'd like to be informed about that before waiting an undefined amount of time for something to be implemented.
I feel like i've said this a lot, but that's not the only point i'll make.
someone spends money on a game. cool, right? stonks.
they find out that this game they spent money on is practically unplayable because of where they live. not cool anymore.
No matter how much they try to get the dev's attention, discord, email, tickets, none of it works. they feel left out.
Not a good feeling, and not a good rep for this game either. and, well, spoiler alert❗❗❗ I kind of hate it when games try to appeal to others but completely ignore a certain group.
This discussion will most likely get locked and arabian will just be ignored. why must this happen...? A company, THIS company, recreate games, which I am 100% sure isn't an indie one (which i'm not surprised by, more effort and genuincity in their works VS "how much can we feed our community without taking breaks? we have more people!" and though, yes, they both take effort, it's like comparing quantity over quality. I'm talking about that one "lowest player count" joke you made with silksong. Took 8 years of replay after replay, bug fix after bug fix for this game to come to life.
Party animals did that too, just had more time. they weren't being rushed by a MILLION ANGRY PEOPLE THAT WANTED THEIR PRECIOUS LITTLE HORNET TO COME OUT ALREADY.
Party animals has it easier. they're not being rushed by that many people, only one. They're choosing to ignore this person and the more I think of it the more I realize: 3 people can't make a company change their minds.
