One issue I think with adding too many "types" of mini-games is that if people have a favorite type of game, such as Last Stand, they might not be able to play their favorite game-type as often when there are many more gametypes added, such as cooking games.
Overcooked is fantastic for its genre, so I think people should probably play that if that's what they're looking for.
This game, for me at least, is something I go to shut my brain off, whereas in overcooked, my brain has to be on high alert.
I like the simple unga bunga satisfaction I get from slamming a shovel into my opponents and seeing them fly off the arena.
The main issue is with any new game mode added, at some point, there will need to be a selection, which will divide the player base. It's okay if the player base is massive enough to handle that (like in Rocket League) but otherwise it complicates things.
That's currently the reason we don't have separate game modes to choose from, because there aren't enough players without dividing the game population.
