  • Local play, PS5. No guest users???

Can you confirm, does each player need their own Playstation network account to sign in and play locally on the same PS5???

If this is the case, why? It's local play, we should be able to use Guest accounts. It's a terrible requirement to force everyone to have a PSN account...

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out! Here's the breakdown for local multiplayer on PS:

  • In Quick Match and Custom Mode, up to four players can play in split-screen, but each player will need their own PSN account and PSN membership.

  • In Local Game Mode, up to two players can play in split-screen, and neither player needs a PSN account or membership.

We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Carrot that doesn't explain or justify the WHY as in why do each player in local have to have a membership? Why isn't there no direct offline mode when that and not forcing memberships for players 2-4 locally would encourage more sales on console?

don't be mean to @Carrot guys I'm sure he is trying the best he can

      CM_Pork Hi,

Thanks for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts with us. We understand your concern about requiring PSN membership for players 2-4 in local multiplayer.

To clarify, the reason for the PSN membership requirement in certain modes, such as Quick Match and Custom Mode, is due to how these modes are designed to interact with PlayStation's online services. These modes are intended to integrate with the network for features like matchmaking, and as a result, each player needs a PSN account and membership to access those features.

We appreciate your suggestion about having a direct offline mode, and we will pass this feedback along to the development team for future consideration.

If you have any other questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out!

Hi there. I have just bought this game on the marketing message that this would be great as a party game for a Saturday night. My 11 year old has some friends over for his birthday and this was going to be the game they'd play on the PS5. Setting it up and looking online I've seen the insane restrictions and limitations of this "port". To only have 2 players on local co-op is MAD! How on earth this was acceptable in the development process is beyond comprehension for a game that is marketed as a multiplayer experience.
Being a playstation 5 purchase and having downloaded it, I'm unable to get a refund and am now £15 out of pocket. I'd like to warn all other potential purchasers to NOT BUY THIS GAME if you're looking for a fun local multiplayer experience.
I hope the google seo picks this up and helps stop other people wasting their money.
