I've brainstormed ideas for a new game mode where players fight against bots. I call it Paws and Circuits. It sounds like a custom game exclusive mode, but some tweaks might make it work in a quick match. I'd love to see this mode in the game or something similar.
General Mechanics
- There is no real end/winning for the players. Players try to survive as long as possible as the difficulty increases with each new wave. (Each wave is about a minute long with a 10-second grace period)
- The game ends when there are no live players left. Players starting respawn time is one minute.
- Some mechanics (player respawn time, bot AI, time between bots spawning, etc) are influenced by difficulty.
Bot mechanics
- Bots have a greyish-red color palette.
- There is a spawn system for bots influenced by difficulty. General stats:
- Regular bot: 70%
- A bot with a weapon: 15%
- A bot that spawns holding a bomb that will throw it at players: 10%
- Bot with berserker PAWER: 7%
-A bot that spawns with a weapon and Berserker PAWER: 3%
- Bots will sometimes try to throw KO'd players into hazards. There is a higher chance of this behavior as the game goes on. Regular bots have the highest chance of doing this, starting at a 40% chance.
- More bots will spawn as the difficulty increases.
- Every five waves, a Boss bot will spawn. They spawn with a shovel and the following pawers: Insomniac, Charge, and Quicksilver). Each boss faced gains an additional 33% boost to stamina and health and wakes up from KO's 33% quicker. (Boss one: 33% boost. Boss two: 66% boost, etc.)
Map mechanics
- The fight takes place on a floating island in the sky.
- There are different hazard spots (listed in the order from farthest out [near where the bots spawn] to the center of the map [where the players spawn]): Lava pools, toxic gas fields, and empty drops into the void.
- The center of the map is more level and flat, and areas farther out are more rugged. (Bots spawn in mountain-like areas and come down to fight the players in an arena-style area)
Other mechanics
- Items will spawn randomly around the map for players to use (Bots ignore them). Up to 4 items can be on the map at a time. Items will remain where they spawn forever until they are thrown into a hazard area or picked up by a player, where the player will be able to use the item for about a minute before it disappears. The time between new items spawning increases with difficulty (Starting time is 30 seconds).
- Waves can stack onto each other. Bots from previous waves will stay until they are defeated.
Achievement ideas:
- Flawless Fists: KO 5 bots in a row without getting KO'd.
- Circuit Supreme: Survive past wave 15.
- Pawfectionoists: Survive for 5+ waves without any teammates dying. (Must be playing with 4+ players)
- Beserker Bane: Defeat 15 enraged bots in one game.
- Peak Performance: Defeat a Boss bot within 30 seconds of the boss spawning.
