While custom games are excellent with friends they lack the current potential they can have. Games like Mario Party recently added custom items so you can play tracks with friends and only have red shells from the mystery boxes. I would love to see an implementation of a system like this during the "rules" section of the game. Features would include but not limited to:
- The spawning rate of items
{Lets you set a number 1-10 which speeds up the amount of time it takes for an item to land after the match starts}
- The damage per item
{While items don't have per say a dmg certain items have a radius to them like the bomb and special guns have timers attached to them like the ice gun. modifying the attributes or speed at which the item works}
- Item limits or caps
{Capping the initial item spawning or frequency of which new items spawn}
- Item Picker
{Allows you to ban certain items from exiting in the matches. For example, if you only want bombs to drop you can pick only bombs. If you want ice guns and taser's you can set it to only ice guns and tasers}
Next, I would like to talk in general about maps. All the maps have some sort of closing mechanic. On Ichiban, it is the green gas. On Ice Breaker, it is the ice breaking apart. Having a timer added in custom games for how long the event takes to go from start to end-stage could be great for just normal hand-to-hand combat. While it alters the pacing of the current game matches, this would be a nice feature to see.
