We all know some lizards possess the magical ability to change color, especially the famous chameleon. But did you know? They don't actually change color to play hide-and-seek.
For a long time, it has been widely believed that color changing was for blending into backgrounds and evading predators. While that's partly true, it's only a secondary reason.
Science shows that this unique superpower of chameleons is primarily for regulating body temperature and expressing emotions. On cold mornings, they turn dark to absorb more heat; while during courtship or when facing rivals, they burst into their most brilliant and dazzling colors.
