i keep getting knocked out and sometimes it feels like it takes a full 5 seconds just to wake up but then when i knock somebody out they get up in 3 seconds, can somebody plz explain how to wake up faster because its getting annoying and sometimes in ichiban i get knocked out and thrown in the gas yet i do not wake up
why is recovering from knock out so slow
it feels sluggish
oh no. not this post again. you also get up in 3 seconds while enemy takes 5, you just dont notice this. 2 second difference is nothing. everything is fair
I agree with @Vividtoast here and the others who’ve commented on this.
I don’t see this as “unfair” because I don’t think it’s random. I think it’s more likely there’s stuff happening in the game engine that’s not surfaced to the player through the UI. For instance, some have talked about both stamina and HP. If there is indeed an HP (whatever that is), and it affects your wake-up time (and is affected by how you play), then it should be surfaced through the UI to prevent just this kind of problem.
BugalugsNugget i disagree, the less we know, the better. HP has nothing to do with ko time, but likely stamina values of both players. as i said before, it's not important. the difference is too small
Igor I don’t think the difference is small. I’ve hit someone within the first 2 seconds of spawning on Ichiban, I’ve picked them up, 3 seconds later they’ve knocked me down while I’m carrying them to the edge of the map, and then thrown me off instead. 5 seconds later I’m still knocked out in the gas - where I die. It would be nice to know why.
For instance, if a kick in the head causes more damage than a kick elsewhere, then that’s good to know and would stop a lot of confusion - but we just can’t see this. I used up stamina by punching the person and then carrying them, but for them to wake up after receiving a heavy punch at full stamina, hit me once, and put me out of the game almost immediately is the kind of thing that makes us wonder why.
I suspect where you get hit is just as important as how hard you get hit. I also think that a player’s stamina might NOT be affected by being knocked down sometimes. I’ve seen this with the bombs. A player can be knocked out next to a bomb. The bomb explodes before they wake up, and then they wake up immediately after being blown halfway across the map. The rules feel a bit unclear and inconsistent, and that’s why people like myself and @Vividtoast ask these questions.
BugalugsNugget do you really count seconds? 2 seconds is nothing. exactly the same thing could happen to your enemy so it's all fair. how come i never complained once?
the hit to the head does more damage but the difference is still too small. you dont really kill anyone, you throw them off, so their health makes no difference, unless you want to murder with a shovel or unless rare fast deaths
i dont understand this " I also think that a player’s stamina might NOT be affected by being knocked down sometimes". please explain it
i'm getting tired explaining to everyone that all those things are not important, but it's my job to do it. if i dont do it, then no one will
Igor It’s not important to YOU, @Igor. That’s the difference, and that’s because while you fight in Party Animals, that’s not your main goal. That’s fine of course, but many of us were drawn to Party Animals because of the fighting mechanics. The fighting is secondary to your experience of the game while it’s the only reason I play.
If Party Animals didn’t contain fighting and was instead about relaxing and being social, then I wouldn’t play it. You’re just happy to host, chat, and even spectate. This is appreciated of course, but it explains why you personally don’t care about these things while others do.
I don’t fight to win all of the time. I’m happy to just enjoy the ride, and often enjoy losing more if I’ve had a really close battle with other players. I just want it to be a fair battle with rules that I understand and feel consistent. I think until this happens, then these kinds of questions will always appear.
BugalugsNugget it's not important to me because i can still win no matter how fast you wake up. same should apply to you.
i like fighting too
Igor Can’t argue against that. I think you’ve beat me 99.9% of the time we’ve had an encounter.
BugalugsNugget they need to add a hp bar, its kind of annoying getting hit once and immediately dying (no knock out, just dead instantly)
Vividtoast they never should add hp bar. uncertainty is more fun
