Wow, I really admire you for seemingly respecting the title and the rules they tried setting forth.
But let me give you my honest take, since I'm over 18.
Other people are rude about it and just don't want to hear voices that haven't hit puberty. I think they have a lot of... hate in their heart. I don't get it entirely nor do i agree with it at all. Maybe if they're hungover I guess I understand. I don't know.
My take and why I would put 18+ is for the scenarios when I'm trying to show people glitches or bugs I know of in winter cabin. It's almost always some kid who keeps attacking us and won't be reasonable and leave us be when we ask them. Maybe another scenario might be if I'm playing with my friends (who are adults) we may set it to 18 plus to hopefully have more adults come and join and they'll likely be very good friends and can relate on a lot more things.
In short, I assume people are rude and that's why for some. But for me, it's to keep then out from bugging us and stopping a mission we may make for ourselves, or we set it to 18+ to invite more like minded people that could be new, good friends.
